Hello crafters!  What a storm we had this week here in New England.  I don’t know about you, but this year I am REALLY looking forward to the start of Spring!   Fresh flowers begin to bloom and color the earth.   Such a beautiful sight.    Today I would like to share my color challenge card with you.   The inspiration comes from the Tuesday color challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com

SplitcoastStampers.com color challenge "Do the Calypso and play peekaboo while wearing emeralds" square graphics colored calypso coral, peekaboo peach, emerald envy colors from stampin' up!

Spring Bouquet

Do the Calypso and Play Peekaboo while Wearing Emeralds!   Sounds like fun to me, am I right?   So yea, my first thought was flowers of course!   Still thinkin’ spring here.

Beautiful Bouquet

So I reached for the Beautiful Bouquet Photopolymer bundle from the annual catalog, found on page 92.  This stamp set sure lives up to its name!   Not only is it beautiful, duh, it’s such a workhorse!   There are 37 photopolymer stamps and countless ways for combining the floral images and dies!

For the card,  I wanted a background that would not distract from the focal image of flowers, so I decided to play with some sparkle texture paste and a few different stencils.   When the paste was dry, I chose this background because if reminded me of the lace on a wedding gown.

Next I cut the stems of the bouquet from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits using the Emerald Envy cardstock.   There are 21 dies in this set!   Tons and tons of blooms to play with!  I truly enjoy watercoloring with the Stampin’ Up! inks.   What better way to make the flowers for the spring bouquet??    So many different shades, hues and depth of color.   The Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral worked well for this bouquet.

Lucky for me I had some peekaboo peach bakers twine from an older Paper Pumpkin kit that I chose to use to wrap the bouquet and tied a bow.   To finish off this card, I heat embossed the word Love from one of the sentiments from the stamp set in gold and made a tag.  And yes, I added a metallic heart enamel shape too!  It’s always fun to enter card/color challenges.   Pop by Splitcoaststampers.com and check out the color challenge gallery!
