Hello and Happy Monday friends! Today I want to share a card created for the Splitcoaststampers.com Tuesday color challenge, CC678. Dancing the Night Away Doing the Tango and Mambo!
Melon Mambo, Night of Navy and Tangerine Tango was the color focus. First I took out the ink pads, next grabbed some scrap in the colorway and just sat and gazed until I was in a “color trance”. Finally I just began to explore combining the colors and playing. This is where the magic happens! Here’s what I came up with.
This is the second week I am participating in the color challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. You can check out the first card HERE. The first layer is crumb cake dry embossed using the the new Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder (DTIF). Next I cut a mat in Night of Navy and another mat in Melon Mambo so that the focal image would really pop. My adhesive of choice is the liquid all purpose glue. I find it gives me the “wiggle” room I need to get the layers set. With snail glue, if you have made an error, you cannot always change the position without ruining your creation! 🙁
The stamp I chose is also from the Sale-a-Bration second release. Blossoming Basket Bundle includes the Blossoming Basket Stamp set along with the Basket Weave DTIF. The basket was first stamped in Night of Navy and then I fussy cut the basket omitting the flower images. Next I grabbed the Night of Navy Blends markers and began to give the basket some life. The Stampin’ Blends are an amazing tool and can really make the beginner color enthusiast look like an accomplished artist! Once I was satisfied with the basket, i then took more whisper white cardstock and ran it throught the Big Shot with Lots of Lables framelits. The tiny flowers were made using a retired punch using Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango scraps for the CC678. To give the flowers dimension, I added some color to them with Stampin’ write markers and wink of stella. I tucked each one into the basket along with a few greens punched from Old Olive cardstock using the all-purpose liquid glue. For the finishing touches, I added a linen thread bow with a mini tag stamped from the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle. And there you have the CC678 card complete. Have a great week and don’t forget to #createdaily!
